About
Software built for the businesses that run on it
App Consultancy Global is a software consultancy of senior engineers based across England, working remotely. We build systems for businesses that have outgrown off-the-shelf tools but don’t have an engineering team of their own — and we started by building our own product to prove the way we work. Built properly, explained plainly, handed over in full.
How it started
ACG began with a gap our founder kept running into: the tools that let a large company talk to its customers, run its operations and sell online are built around large companies — their teams, their processes, their scale. Smaller businesses end up bending how they work to fit the software. Rather than pitch that idea, we built the case for it — our first product, Walk-in, made for the platforms most small businesses already sell on and designed around how they actually work.
The same team takes on client work: bespoke systems, the modernisation of software that has outgrown its foundations, and the ongoing support to keep it running. Our engineers are senior people who have each shipped commercial software for over a decade; we are based across England and work remotely, which is how we can put the right engineer on a problem rather than the nearest one. We work in short releases you can see, we explain the trade-offs as we make them, and every engagement ends with your team holding the code, the infrastructure and the reasoning behind both.
We believe in hard work and in being rewarded for it — and we hold ourselves to the other half of that bargain. We are judged on the results we deliver, and we expect to earn every piece of repeat business rather than assume it.
We hand the work over
Every engagement ends with your team holding the code, the infrastructure, and the reasoning. Lock-in is a business model, not an engineering outcome.
Concrete over impressive
We'd rather show a measured result than a case study full of adjectives. If a number moved, we'll tell you which one and by how much.
Boring technology, deliberately
We choose well-understood tools with long support horizons. Novelty is a cost, and it's usually paid by whoever maintains the system after us.
We say no
If a project doesn't need us, or needs someone else, we'll say so early. It costs us a sale and saves you a quarter.
Have a system that needs building — or rescuing?
Tell us what you're working with. We'll tell you plainly whether we're the right people for it.
