What information we collect, use, and why
This is a brochure website. It has no accounts, no logins and no payments. We collect personal information in only these situations:
- When you submit our contact form — your name, your email address, your company name if you choose to give one, and the content of your message. We use this solely to read and respond to your enquiry.
- When you submit a review — your name, email address, and optionally your role and company, together with your rating and the review itself. We use your email address only to check that a review is genuine; it is never published. We publish a review, with your name and company, only where you have ticked the box consenting to that.
- When you join a product waitlist — your email address, the product you asked about, the platform your site runs on, your store or website address if you give one, and the times you joined and confirmed. We use the store address only to set the product up for you at launch. We email you once to confirm the address is yours and once when the product launches. Nothing else is recorded: no name, no IP address, no source.
- When your browser or a client requests a page — your IP address is processed automatically by our hosting and security providers, and is used to apply rate limits that stop our forms being abused by automated traffic.
We do not collect payment or bank details through this website, we do not build profiles about you, and we do not use your information for advertising or sell it to anyone.
Cookies, local storage and analytics
We keep what this website stores on your device to a minimum, and we list every item — its name, purpose and lifetime — on our cookies page, where you can also switch off anything that is not strictly necessary.
- Strictly necessary: one first-party cookie that remembers your cookie choices; the light/dark mode you pick, kept in your browser’s local storage; and, only if our security provider has to check that a request is genuine, a short-lived Cloudflare cookie.
- Statistics: Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us aggregate page-view and speed figures. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, does not identify you and does not follow you to other sites. Under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 this kind of aggregate measurement does not need your consent, but you can object at any time using the switch on the cookies page.
- Marketing: we set marketing or advertising cookies only if you accept them on the banner, which appears only when we are running a campaign that uses them. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and your choice is remembered for six months.
When you send us an enquiry, the form asks how you heard about us and records the page that referred you and any campaign tags in the address. That travels with your message to our inbox and nowhere else; it is not stored on your device and is not used to build a profile of you.
Lawful bases and data protection rights
Under UK data protection law, we must have a “lawful basis” for collecting and using your personal information. There is a list of possible lawful bases in the UK GDPR, and you can find out more about them on the ICO’s website.
Which lawful basis we rely on may affect your data protection rights, which are set out in brief below. You can find out more about your rights, and the exemptions which may apply, on the ICO’s website:
- Your right of access — You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information, and for details about where we got it from and who we share it with.
- Your right to rectification — You have the right to ask us to correct or complete personal information you think is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Your right to erasure — You have the right to ask us to delete your personal information.
- Your right to restriction of processing — You have the right to ask us to limit how we use your personal information.
- Your right to object to processing — You have the right to object to our processing of your personal information.
- Your right to data portability — You have the right to ask us to transfer the personal information you gave us to you or to another organisation.
- Your right to withdraw consent — Where we rely on consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time.
If you make a request, we must respond without undue delay and in any event within one month. To make a request, email us at team@appconsultancyglobal.com.
Our lawful bases
- Responding to your enquiry — legitimate interests. When you contact us about our services, it is in both our interests that we read your message and reply to it. If your enquiry leads to us working together, we then process your information to enter into and perform that contract.
- Publishing reviews — consent. We publish a review with your name and company only where you have consented to it. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us, and we will remove the review.
- Product waitlists — consent. You join by giving us your email address and confirming it from the email we send (double opt-in), which is our record that you asked to hear from us. Withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email we send you; the address is deleted at once.
- Checking that reviews are genuine — legitimate interests. We are expected to take reasonable steps to prevent false or misleading reviews, and we use the email address you give us to check that a review comes from a real client.
- Rate limiting and security — legitimate interests. We process IP addresses to keep the site available and to stop automated abuse of our forms.
Where we get personal information from
Directly from you, when you fill in the contact form or email us. We do not buy marketing lists or collect personal information about you from other sources.
How long we keep information
- Enquiries that do not lead to us working together — 12 months from our last contact with you, then deleted.
- Records relating to clients we work with, including correspondence and project records — six years after the engagement ends. This matches the period in which a claim could be brought under the Limitation Act 1980, so that we are able to defend or bring one.
- Tax and accounting records — kept for the period HMRC requires, currently at least five years after the 31 January submission deadline for the relevant tax year.
- Reviews we publish — for as long as they remain on the website. Reviews we do not publish, and reviewers’ email addresses, are kept for 12 months and then deleted.
- Waitlist addresses you have not confirmed — 30 days, then deleted. Confirmed addresses — until the launch email has been sent, then deleted within three months. Unsubscribed addresses — deleted immediately.
- Technical and security logs containing IP addresses — 30 days.
For more information about how long we keep your personal information, or the criteria we use to decide, please contact us using the details above.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information or share it for marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process personal information on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:
- Our email delivery provider, which delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Our hosting and content delivery providers, which run this website and our application and keep them secure.
We may also share personal information with our professional or legal advisers where we need advice, and with regulators, law enforcement or other authorities where we are legally obliged to do so.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of our service providers are based outside the United Kingdom, which means your personal information may be transferred and processed outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How to complain
If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, you can make a data protection complaint to us by email at team@appconsultancyglobal.com.
If you remain unhappy with how we have used your data after raising a complaint with us, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
